Statements of Beliefs

The board and staff of the Anna's House Foundation believe the creation and maintenance of this foundation is a calling from God and as such we hold traditional beliefs Christians have held throughout all time and summarized as follows

  • The Bible is God's word and his revelation to humanity
  • God exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit
  • All humans are made in the image of God and are worthy of dignity, respect and love
  • Humanity is separated from God by sin but God lovingly purposes to bring salvation through Jesus Christ
  • God indwells and empowers his people through the Holy Spirit and we are called to engage in good works and service
  • God will one day make all things new and evil will be no more

Care of the orphan is a mandate for all Christians and is referenced at least 27 times in the Bible. While most children in foster care have living biological parents, they have been "orphaned" by inadequate parenting to include abuse, neglect, abandonment, and domestic violence. As Christians, we must protect and provide loving care to these children, while reconciliation and restoration of each child's family is desired, believing all people are capable of change.

When this is not possible, adoption of these children can occur. Adoption of a child is a beautiful picture of the Christian life; as an individual places their faith in Jesus Christ, they are adopted into the family of God. Each child in foster care has a unique journey, but it is Anna's House Foundation's goal to offer each of these children a foundation of hope, faith, and love.
