The Anna's House Foundation staff works to help provide the necessary CE (Continuing Education) training (minimum of 12 hours per year) required by OKDHS. These opportunities will be available to all of The Anna's House Foundation's foster, adoptive and alternative caregiver families. Dates will be posted closer to the time of events and information will be distributed to Anna's House Foundation families. If there is a specific topic that you feel would be beneficial to families and the children they care for, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 405-509-2055.
AHF families receive one-on-one support 24/7 from staff including home visits, telephone conferences and court appearances as needed. Anna's house also provides a support group, which meets the third Thursday of every month. This time allows families to come together and lift each other up in prayer and emotional support. The journey can be difficult for families caring for children who have suffered the trauma of abuse neglect and/or abandonment. The support and understanding of other resource/foster families can help sustain a family through unique challenges and tough times. This type of support enables children to remain in placements (families) and reduce the number of moves a child in foster care can often endure.
"The idea of fostering was overwhelming, but with help from Anna's House our first placement has gone so smoothly! From loading us up with diapers and clothes, to giving us advice about court dates and WIC, we have had the support we need to be a success." —Sara Kaelber, foster mom
