Don Williams, Chaplain
_______________________________________________________________________
We first met Don when our foster care journey had just begun.  Since that time our paths have crossed many times through children's cases in the foster care system that we have loved in our home.  He volunteers his time as our Social Services Liason and Chaplain and we are blessed to have him on our team!  Please get to know Don a little better by reading his bio below:

" I am an ordained Southern Baptist Minister.  In August 1982, I received the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and have not been the same since.  I felt the call of the Lord to preach the gospel early in my walk; after receiving Christ.  My personal goals are to make true disciples of Jesus Christ and to build strong Christian families.  I feel that I can bring to AHF the ability to deal with personnel and their personal problems by helping them learn and put into practice Biblical truths. I believe that my strongest gift is that of an encourager to those who are lost or hurting.  My life verses for ministry are Psalm 71:18 and Matthew 5:16.

I spent 22 years in the military and associated with management operations for over twenty years.  I managed Munitions Operations in many aspects of my military career and lastly as the Chief of Munitions Operation which included supervising all areas of operation, safety, and training not only my own work force, but those of organizations all over the base that dealt with munitions in their daily operations within the United States Air Force.

I am currently working for the state of Oklahoma as a Child Welfare Specialist working as a Permanency Expediter.  This means that I am a "trouble shooter" helping to solve problems that keep children from being adopted and bring permanency to children who can no longer be cared for by their parents. I am a Volunteer Chaplain for The Department of Human Services.  In addition, I have completed all but one class to become a certified Chaplain for the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Team, which I will complete on February 13-14, 2009.  I will then request certification from the North American Missions Board to become a nationally recognized Chaplain to help in disasters.
