Whether you've been thinking about fostering for years or you simply clicked because you were curious, we're glad you're here. Every foster family starts with questions, and many people are surprised to learn that they may be more qualified than they think.

At Anna's House Foundation, we believe that children who have experienced hardship deserve safe, loving homes and caring adults who are willing to learn. Foster care isn't about being perfect—it's about being present.

Do I have to be married to become a foster parent?

No. Many successful foster parents are single adults. What matters most is your ability to provide a safe, stable, and nurturing home.

Do I need to own my home?

No. Foster parents may own or rent their homes. The important factor is having adequate space and a safe environment for a child.

Do I need to be wealthy?

Not at all. Foster families come from a variety of financial backgrounds. And, Anna's House helps with many of a child's needs while in care like school supplies, car seats, Christmas presents, and more.

What if I have children already?

Many foster families have biological, adopted, or other children living in the home. In fact, many families find fostering becomes a meaningful experience for everyone involved.

What if I've never parented before?

Experience with children can be helpful, but many foster parents begin their journey without prior parenting experience. And, Anna's House provides training and support are along the way.

Am I expected to know everything before I start?

Absolutely not. Foster care is a learning journey. The goal isn't to have all the answers today—it's simply to take the next step and learn more.
