Community Outreach Coordinator

Anna’s House Foundation, a Faith Based Organization

Reporting directly to Executive of the Anna’s House Foundation (AHF) with respect to the assistance and support of the organization’s efforts of recruitment and certification of foster families.

Volunteer Coordination

  • Generate appropriate volunteering opportunities and role descriptions based on the needs of the AHF, promote volunteering (internally and externally) through recruitment and publicity strategies, raise staff awareness of the role and the function of volunteers
  • Perform orientation and complete application process with all prospective AHF volunteers, maintain regular communicate with volunteers and, manage AHF interns
  • Coordinate volunteer needs with all AHF families and staff
  • Manage all aspects and execute foster family engagement events throughout the year both offsite and occurring in the AHF Luther community including the coordination of volunteers, food, and location details. Events include but are not limited to: Easter Party, Back to School celebration, Thanksgiving baskets, and Christmas party

Resource Room Management: 

  • Oversee all tangible items donated to AHF’s Resource Room and utilized by AHF families. This includes solicitation for donations, inventory tracking, organizing, donation processing and receipting
  • Maintain Resource Room on Wheels initiative and bi-monthly meals for foster families

Marketing:

  • Work in coordination with the Executive Director to provide content for all social media properties and website, maintain positive relationship with Content Management firm retained by agency
  • Take photographs of agency events and programs ensuring appropriate liability waivers are completed before use
  • In coordination with the Executive Director write, edit, and submit press releases, media alerts and other public relations pieces including but not limited to articles, photos, and coordinating advertisements
  • Create, update and sometimes create marketing and corporate collateral, coordinate with program staff to produce and order marketing materials used in daily functions and special events including but not limited to business cards, registration forms, special websites, invitations, handouts and stationary
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Sitting for long periods of time, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity
  • Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds of food, supplies, office supplies, event materials)
  • May be required to travel by car or plane to business events or other company locations. Travel may require prolonged sitting or standing.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Minimum education required, Bachelor’s degree in social services, business or related fields.
  • Understanding of the mission, operation, strategic goals and services of AHF.
  • Knowledge of public relations/communications functions, and effective advertising techniques and practices.
  • Proficient at creating and tracking project schedules. Manage multiple priorities, including confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Detail oriented, with strong written and oral communication skills in order to manage a continuous workflow of a high volume, multi-tasking environment 
  • Ability to relate to and professionally interact with staff, volunteers, donors and the public
  • Energetic, articulate and self-assured, and possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact with persons of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in a manner that demonstrates sensitivity toward difference 
  • Willingness to communicate by phone or email outside of normal business hours
  • Skilled at working well independently and within continuously evolving teams and other organizations

PREFERRED ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Preferred experience in Volunteer Management
  • Big picture oriented and places organizational success above personal success
  • Experience or general knowledge of the foster system
  • Operate with a variety of software packages, including: Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Content Management Systems and other productivity suites.

 


 

Care Specialist

Anna’s House Foundation, a Faith-Based Organization

Reporting directly Child Placement Supervisor of the Anna’s House Foundation with respect to the assistance and support of the organization’s efforts and interaction with the State of Oklahoma’s Department of Human Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Case manage approximately 26 children, not to exceed 22 certified resource homes.
  • Document in Extended Reach providing supervisor real-time access to child cases and families, maintaining compliance in all areas-- Intake documents in the file within 48 hours of placement, monthly visits documented within 72 hours of visit.
  • Writes Homestudies and Submits to Placement Supervisor for resource home approval within 1 month of receiving a completed file from Certification Specialist.
  • Completes annual reassessments of homes to include alternate caregivers within the required timeframe.
  • Work with Placement Supervisor and DHS in the placement of children.
  • Rotates ON CALL with case management staff.
  • Attend family meetings and serve in an interdisciplinary role working with DHS caseworkers in the development and application of a child’s service plan to include services such as dental, mental health counselling, transportation, medications, health screenings, vision services, hearing services.
  • Assist foster parents in writing court reports and attend court hearings to advocate for the child and the foster parents.
  • Exercise a strong presence to convene monthly groups, shape dialogues, and develop and manage productive relationships within the AHF community.
  • Available to foster families after normal business hours in urgent situations and on a rotation basis with other AHF employees for all holidays.
  • Returns all family, staff, and inter-agency correspondence with urgency.  
  • Manage various special projects as designated by Directors for implementation and execution of key team objectives
  •  Acquire CEUs as required by licensing.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • At a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in social work or Bachelor’s in a behavioral or social science or a related field with 1-year experience in children’s or family services
  • Detail oriented, with strong written and oral communication skills in order to manage a continuous workflow of a high volume, multi-tasking environment 
  • Energetic, articulate and self-assured, and possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact with persons of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in a manner that demonstrates sensitivity toward difference 

PREFERRED ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Two years of experience in a position serving the foster care population
  • Skilled at working in a team and place organizational success above personal success
  • Ability to effectively translate between the operations of AHF and OKDHS 
  • Proficient at creating and tracking project schedules 
  • Willingness to communicate by phone or email outside of normal business hours
  • Skilled at working well independently and within continuously evolving teams
  • Ability to understand and work creatively with other organizations, OK DHS, board members, and staff
