Their son was born, but not in the way they had planned…

The The Manzano family’s journey is a testament to resilience, faith, and that God’s plans are always
better than we could ever expect!

In 2019, Humberto and Maria finally received a positive pregnancy test after years of fertility treatment.
Sadly, Maria miscarried before the due date of July 2020. In their devastation, they decided to
foster, wanting to help children and families find their way back together. After several years of
fostering, in September of 2024, they signed the adoption papers for their son, Brayden. God
works in mysterious ways – Brayden was born in July 2020 which demonstrates how God had a
plan far greater than they could have imagined.
Their son was indeed born in July of 2020, but
not in the way they had planned.

The Bravo’s primary goal in fostering was to provide a safe and stable environment for the
children they received; however, if they couldn’t return to their family, they were open to
adoption. They believe that Anna’s House played an amazing role throughout this entire
process. From tightly holding their hands and walking alongside them when they were new, to
providing resources and useful information. Also, taking the time to just listen to their worries
and celebrating their victories. Anna’s House was there supporting in every step of the journey.
When asked what advice they would give to families thinking about fostering, they said “to
have an open mind and heart. This journey is not a straight line, but it is surely a rewarding
one.

Currently, so many children are in need of a caring and stable home, and many parents do
not have the support they need to be the best version of themselves. However, many of us can
help to close that gap. God will equip us and He has promised that if we remain connected to
Him, He will bless us with ALL spiritual blessing. That means that He gives us the strength,
patience, love, perseverance, grace, and mercy to care for others.”
