Spring at Anna’s House!
What an amazing April it’s been for our agency! After 2 years of having altered events + volunteer groups due to COVID, we are thrilled to have our events back to normal and weekly volunteer groups in our office/community. Read below for April highlights!
April 1st was our Easter Party! Our board members, young professional board members, staff, and foster families came together to celebrate our risen Savior. We had a wonderful morning filled with fellowship and fun made possible by our dedicated volunteers! Children were able to get their faces painted, decorate cookies, eat yummy pancakes (with whatever toppings they wanted!) and participate in a 1,000 Easter egg hunt! This could not have happened without the participation from Quail Springs Baptist Church, Live Full Ministries, EOC Tech, OCS High School, and individual volunteers. Thank you for your contributions!
Kendra Scott hosted a give back night for AHF! Their new spring collection was available to our supporters and we had a fun night shopping alongside our donors. KS had sips and treats available, and allowed us to display our flyers in their store. Thank you Kendra Scott for a fabulous evening!
Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center selected Anna’s House as their 2022 school fundraising beneficiary! Iguana Week was April 11th – April 17th and students participated in various events to help raise money for our organization. We were blessed to have the Iguana Student Council come out and help us prepare for our Easter Party by stuffing 1,000 eggs with candy, creating fun goody bags for our foster parents, and assembling furniture for our infant room! We love you, EOC!
UCO Phi Lamb brought 20 girls out to our foster care neighborhood for some much needed spring cleaning! They pulled weeds, washed windows, picked up trash along the fence line, and played with our children. Volunteer groups are always needed and greatly help us in various ways like offering child care, organizing donations, planting flowers, and assisting in events! Does your church, small group, or school organization want to give back to foster children in their community? Contact Britley Little and she would love to set something up! britley@annashousefoundation.org.
When one of our followers heard about the fire that heavily damaged one of our foster homes, she wanted to do something that would brighten the kids day. After shopping at her local grocery store she saw a Girl Scout selling cookies. She approached them saying she wanted to buy all the remaining boxes she had to give to the foster family. When the troop heard of this they took it upon themselves to donate over 40 boxes of girl scout cookies to our foster care neighborhood! They dropped them off at the foster homes and even donated diapers, wipes, and pull ups! Thank you Girl Scouts!
