Church in a Pasture Making a Big Difference

Dr. Scott and Karla Stubbs, long time supporters of Anna’s House Foundation, met in a pasture with their friends and family during the lockdown of 2020. Wanting to read the word of God and connect with other believers, they soon found themselves coming together every Sunday, lawn chairs in tow, and Simply Church Stillwater was born. “We don’t have a lead pastor, so we take turns leading sermons or watching church online. Since we don’t have a building, expenses, or employees, when we tithe it goes directly out into the community to faith based organizations”, Scott explained. 

Simply Church has been volunteering with AHF since Spring 2021. Whether we need childcare, driveways power washed, or weeds pulled, they show up both financially and physically to love on our foster families. Recently they provided funding for us to create an infant room in our Luther Community Center! Church members loaded / unloaded furniture, put together baby items, provided an afternoon of child care, and gave each of our families gift cards. “Our foster children love to play at the Community Center with the Simply Church volunteers. Gift cards are a huge blessing as we can use them to help with the cost of clothes as the season changes, or enjoy a fun family night out which isn’t always possible as a family of 8”, says Jennifer Bird, AHF foster mom.
