United Acts of Kindness

EDMOND, Okla. (KFOR) – A local nonprofit is inviting the community to give back in celebration of United Acts of Kindness Day.

The Anna’s House Foundation is a faith-based nonprofit focused on providing sturdy and loving homes to children in Oklahoma. The nonprofit is teaming up with First United Bank to celebrate United Acts of Kindness Day on February 16.

To celebrate, the two will be working together to fill Easter eggs for their annual Easter egg hunt for Anna’s House Foundation’s foster families.

“First United Bank is proud to help promote kindness. It’s amazing the huge impact even the smallest act of kindness can make. United Acts of Kindness is a day our community can come together and spread joy. I encourage everyone to visit unitedactsofkindness.org to learn how you can help us reach our goal of 350,000 acts of kindness on Friday, February 16th.” said Erica Rixen, Spend Life Wisely Ambassador, VP of First United Bank.

According to Anna’s House Foundation, this is the fourth year First United Bank has participated in United Acts of Kindness Day. Established in 1995, Random Acts of Kindness Day was started by The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation and has grown to be more globally recognized.

“United Acts of Kindness Day embodies our mission and purpose. We are very grateful we have community partners, such as First United Bank that has the same calling to give.” Said Katherine Craig, Executive Director of Anna’s House Foundation.

The community is encouraged participate not only on Feb. 16, but year-round. Volunteers and donations are welcome.
